Shelley delon

Shelley served as General Manager of ProsToYou Tennis, giving her extensive experience both on the court and in the management and administration of a large tennis organization.

Shelley is a native Washingtonian and former top-ranked junior player who began playing tennis as a toddler. Her competitive career included top regional rankings and national titles before she went on to graduate from the University of Virginia.

As a USTA Coaching Professional and PTR Level 2 Certified Professional, Shelley brings more than 20 years of teaching and coaching experience. Throughout her career, she has helped develop ATA National junior champions, NJTL regional champions and USTA tournament winners, guided JTT teams to local and sectional championships, and served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Howard University Division I Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams.

But there is another part of Shelley’s background that I believe is especially valuable to our TennisPlex families: she is also a tennis mom.

She understands the sport not only as a competitive player, coach, director and administrator, but also as a parent who has experienced firsthand what it takes to help a young player grow and develop while keeping family, character and perspective at the center of that journey.
